CRESPOGRAM REPORT

APRIL 15, 2013

TWO WOMEN ON THE “FAMILY AND FRIENDS PLAN” GOT FIRED IN REGALADOLAND
GUESS WHO GOT FIRED

Last October, I wrote about Carmen Carbarga, a lawyer who started her city career working at the CRA, and who departed when they were split up, only to show up at Facilities Management managed to last a little less than six months before being fired.

I can only assume that Henry Torre did the deed, and given that there are days when Henry himself should be escorted out of the building for being a moron, you go to imagine that Carmen really had to be dumber than a rock to be summarily fired.

Word is that her cousin, and heavy favorite to be appointed the next City Attorney, Victoria Mendez, has been trolling her contacts in various city departments looking for another vacancy that Carbarga can be parked at until Mendez, if she becomes City Attorney can slip her into the City Attorney’s Office on the Family and Friends Plan.

THE MAYOR FIRES THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF HIS INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL

last May I wrote about Isabel De Quesada, and her $80,000 a year salary as the Executive Director of the Mayor’s International Council. I wondered then just what she did for the money, since she was seldom at City Hall, and refused to respond to public records request, even to the point of refusing to acknowledge receiving requests.

Well, it seems that Ms. De Quesada got fired recently, and that perhaps she was done in by Angel Zayon, who surprise, surprise, was appointed by the Mayor to take over her position in addition to his duties as the Chief of the Communication’s Department.

The notice of De Quesada’s firing and Zayon’s appointment appeared in the April 11th issue of Miami Today, which probably means that this information was purposely leaked by Zayon.

Whatever the reason, it must have been something really serious that prompted Regalado to fire De Quesada, because other than Harry Gottlieb, Regalado has not fired any of the morons and incompetents that he’s surrounded himself with since he became Mayor.

No one should think that the firing of these two individuals represents a new leaf turning within the Regalado administration.

While these two women are gone, a continuing stream of “new” employees continues to slip into cushy jobs in Regaladoland, and as last week’s story on the pay raises revealed, a sizable number of folks on the “Family and Friends Plan” got taken care of when the new fiscal year rolled in.

Other city employees, those at the bottom of the pile who have long looked to the Living Wage Ordinance passed by the City Commission in 2007 as a way be treated fairly, continue to be left behind, but then that’s another nasty story about how the administration of Tomas Regalado treats city employees.

For today, it’s good news that Carbarga and De Quesada got fired. Sometimes, even in the City of Miami, somebody does something that warrants saying, “It’s about fucking time!”

That’s Miami, Bitches!
