CRESPOGRAM REPORT

AUGUST 22, 2012

IF A HURRICANE HITS MIAMI

This piece of video features the City of Miami’s outside auditor telling the City Commission at the last Commission meeting that the City has less than 5 days of financial reserves. (It’s 46 seconds long.)

If this storm hits Miami, the City will be in very, very serious trouble, not only because of this issue, but because the rules that govern the allocation of FEMA funds have drastically been changed since Hurricane Andrew days, and like so many other examples of the corruption that have occurred under the Regalado administration, the failure of having intelligent management, the hiring of incompetent cronies resulting in a loss of institutional memory, and an overall failure to maintain the City’s resources could severly limit the amount of recovery money the City gets.
