CRESPOGRAM REPORT
JUDGE GRANTS ME COSTS
WE’RE ON A ROLL - MAYBE

FEBRUARY 3, 2012

At a hearing on Thursday morning, Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Diane Ward, granted my motion to be reimbursed for the costs associated with my having to sue Chief of Police Manuel Orosa for his failure to respond to my public records request.

The request, made on October 13, 2011, for all emails between the Chief, the City Manager and Luis Cabrera, Acting Assistant City Manager/sometimes Deputy Chief of Police, was for all of the correspondence between the three of them between September 6th, and October 13th.  My letter that deetailed all of the additional documents that I requested can be viewed HERE.

The Chief finally responded to my request, but only after I had filed suit, and then, it took a supplemental request to get 1 month’s worth of documents that had not been provided as part of the first documents that I had received.

So now that this case is over, I’ll be getting the complaint ready for my next public records lawuit, because, as you know by now, in the City of It’s Miami, Bitches, there’s never a time when you can’t find a reason to sue any number of smart-asses who think that the public records law is just something to spit on.
