CRESPOGRAM REPORT

JANUARY 6, 2014

MEET “LEXUS” JACKSON
IN 2013, MIAMI POLICE CHIEF MANNY OROSA PROMOTED SGT. DENNIS “LEXUS” JACKSON TO THE RANK OF MAJOR. WITHIN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS HE PLANS TO PROMOTE HIM TO BE AN ASSISTANT CHIEF OF POLICE.

So, first things first. The guy in the photo with Major Jackson is none other than Pastor Gaston Smith.

Last year I cited Pastor Smith on numerous occasions when I wrote about then Commissioner Spence-Jones, because it was Pastor Smith, when asked by an Assistant State Attorney about how he felt once he learned how Spence-Jones had screwed him in a deal that resulted in his being convicted of a felony for stealing $10,000 of county money from a grant that Spence-Jones had helped him to receive, uttered those memorable words, “Now that I’ve had the chance to think through this and look at the documents, I feel completely violated...It’s almost like date rape.”

Being “completely violated,” and getting convicted of a felony didn’t seem to put much of a dent in Pastor Smith’s game, and he, along with several other preachers including the Reverend Jerome Starling - who used to be fond of suits made from furniture fabric - have been credited, along with Commissioner Spence-Jones, as being instrumental in getting Dennis Jackson promoted from Sergeant to Major in charge of the North District.

The Reverend has recently slimmed down and taken on the Rapper/Gangster look and forsaken looking like a Lazy Boy sofa that I think becomes him better.

Now, even under normal circumstances the possibility of a guy like Dennis Jackson being promoted from Sergeant to Major, and placed in charge of a District headquarters even in the Miami Police Department, would have been considered almost impossible.

The US Justice Department has been breathing down the back of the Chief to appoint “educated, well rounded and experienced supervisors” to these senior ranks, and Jackson failed to meet any of those criteria or accomplishments as part of his resume.

For years, Jackson had been assigned to the Property Room, where the only thing he supervised was a pencil, and the only experience he acquired was moving property items to and from shelves without hurting himself.

The reason that Jackson was exiled to the Property Room was that back in the day he had done something that in most police department would have resulted in his being fired.

You see, Dennis “Lexus” Jackson acquired that nickname “Lexus” because back in 1997, he purchased a stolen 1995 Lexus SC400 for $4000.

While the IA Report stated that the “appropriate penalty for such misconduct is termination from employment,”  the fact that case dragged on for almost 5 years in administrative limbo - it’s been revealing the IA cases that have I’ve been able to discover were manipulated like this - the decision to fire him was suspended and he was given a 160 hour suspension. The complete IA Report which I recommend is worthing reading can be found by clicking HERE.

Now, in spite of committing an act that should have gotten him fired, and would have resulted in a felony conviction if you or I had done what he did, Jackson is on the verge of being appointed as an Assistant Chief of Police in the City of Miami Police Department.

Imagine that!  In how many other police departments do you think you would find a cop who got caught lying about buying a stolen car being promoted from Sergeant to Assistant Chief of Police in less than a year?

You might ask, just out of curiosity, how much has Jackson learned from his previous experiences, and how has that affected his behavior in the years since.

On August 26th of last year I posted a short story about how a friend of mine and I had been having lunch at a restaurant on 79th Street when who should walk in but “Lexus” Jackson and Reverend Jerome Starling.

When my friend and I finished lunch, we left and I spotted Jackson’s police SUV illegally parked in front of the restaurant. The arrow points to a sign that says NO PARKING with an arrow pointing where the SUV is parked, and you can see the back end jutting into the exit ramp for the TACO BELL next to the restaurant.

So while “Lexus” doesn’t need to buy anymore stolen cars now that the taxpayers are providing him with a shiny new SUV, his parking habits still reveal an asshole who thinks he can get away with whatever he wants to because he’s a cop.

I’ll bet that’s just the kind of cop you want as an Assistant Chief of Police, right?

Only in Miami. Bitches!
