CRESPOGRAM REPORT

OCTOBER 14, 2013

A NEIGHBORHOOD PARK
THAT SERVES AS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF FRANK CAROLLO’S NEGLECT OF HIS DISTRICT

It seems that I can go few places in Miami nowadays without running into another example of Commissioner Frank Carollo’s neglect or trickery of the folks in his District.

A couple weeks ago I did a story about his getting the Capital Improvements Department to plant those big street signs in one section of his District announcing street improvements as a way to try and convince voters that after 4 years of ignoring them he had finally gotten off his ass to get funds allocate to fix the streets. In fact the funds were always available, and Frank only decided to use any of that money as part of his reelection campaign.

This weekend, in response to a SecretSender message I had gotten a couple weeks ago, I made my way down to the Brickell West, Southside Park to look into the claim that it was not being well kept.

At the time I suspected that the park was in Commissioner Sarnoff’s District, but in fact it’s in Frankie’s District, and was in fact being badly maintained.

Worse, while I was there I spoke with a woman, who, with her friend and her child were the only folks in the park.  Her comments below about how people bring their dogs to the park and how the dogs shit and pee in the sandlot where the Jungle Gym for the kids is located, as well the photographs that I took, only serve to indicate that Frank Carollo has probably never set foot in that park, an if he has, he made sure to ignore all the signs of lousy maintenance that are visible even from the street.

NO WHERE AROUND THE KID’S PLAYGROUND WERE THERE ANY SIGNS WARNING DOG OWNERS NOT TO LET THEIR PETS USE THE SANDLOT AS A BATHROOM BECAUSE OF THE HEALTH HAZARD TO THE KIDS!

Furthermore, why does it seem that only some parks in the city - most especially in Sarnoff’s District - get the Astro Turf treatment and colorful Kids Park, while others, like this park continue to have a sand lot, and a drab, uninviting Jungle Gym?

Below is the video of the woman I spoke with at the park, followed by some of the photos I took.

I wonder if this is one of the city park’s that Juan Cabrera is responsible for inspecting?

It’s Miami, Bitches!
