THE RETURN OF COUNT DRACULA
FOP PRESIDENT ARMANDO AGUILAR COMES OUT OF HIDING - HE MUST BE PLANNING TO RUN FOR REELECTION

Like Count Dracula coming out of his coffin, Armando Aguilar, President of the Miami Police Department’s Fraternal Order of Police surfaced on Thursday’s City Commission to speak on the issue of the newly discovered $45 million budget surplus.

Aguilar, who disappeared from view after his embarrassing loss in the election to become the State President of the FOP was considered by many to have become the lamest of ducks after that loss.

Now it looks like maybe Armando has decided to rejoin the game, since elections for FOP officers will take place at the end of the month.

Some folks are betting that  Aguilar will give Javi Ortiz, who announced his own run for FOP President, a run for his money, because the decision by the FOP on who to sponsor for for Mayor next year is too important to leave to the occasionally erratic hand of Ortiz.

Aguilar, going all the way back to the Leonardo Mercado murder case has been a strong ally of Regalado, who as a Commissioner not only supported the cops who got arrested in that case, but hired one of them after he got out of prison.

In this coming campaign for Mayor, Regalado will need all hands on deck, and while Ortiz has shown that he’s willing to stick his nose far up Regalado’s ass, Armando and Regalado could almost be considered blood brothers.

In the Banana Republic of Miami, no one ever really leaves the playing field.

It’s Miami, Bitches!
