WHERE’S THE AUDIO TAPE

After I wrote my story about Luis Cabrera’s profanity filled outburst at the last contract negotiation session between the City of Miami and the Fraternal Order Of Police, it was explained to me that the FOP tapes these sessions, and that the tape is then given to the City’s Human Resources Director, as part of the historical record of the negotiations.

Having an audio tape of labor negotiations is kind of important, since a lot of time during the heat of negotiation, things are said that get misconstrued.

On Tuesday, I wrote to Ms. Angela Roberts, the Director of Human resources for a copy of the tape.

On Wednesday, I got the following response.

On Thursday, I put the City on notice.

Given how embarrassing this tape would be to Cabrera once folks actually heard him going off like a Roman Candle, you know that the odds are pretty good that sooner rather than later the odd are that the FOP will declare that the tape machine had a malfunction and there is no tape of this meeting.

You cannot trust the FOP - whose shameful history of ass-kissing Regalado also involves playing footsy with Cabrera - has demonstrated time after time that when put to the test, they will always come down on the side that protects Regalado, Cabrera and the other weasels who have been using their official position to feather their own nests at everyone else’s expense.

Which raises another interesting situation.

Word is beginning to filter through the Police Department that cabrera told a handful of his pals not to worry that he has been working behind the scense in order to make sure that the FOP members don’t get hurt in this latest round of budget cuts.

So, just how did this happen?

Cabrera, as I pointed out previously, should not be allowed anywhere near the contract negotiations between the City and the FOP, because he cannot be an Assistant City Manager representing the administration’s interests, and also claim to be the Deputy Chief of Police, who would benefit from any decisions made during these negotiations because he’s a cop on the force.

In short, this is a classic conflict of interest.

This craziness could only happen in Regaladoland, where the City Manager becomes more and more of a coward and “Doormat” in the face of these usurpations of his power and authority, both by Cabrera and Alice ‘In Regaladoland’ Bravo, as well as by Commissioner “Ethics” Sarnoff and everyone else who’s figured that they might as well get all they can, while the getting is good.

Even if only 1/4 of the stories that I’m being told about the current goings on inside City Hall are true, then folks, you better buckle up, because it’s going to be a bumpy ride for the rest of the year.

It’s Miami, Bitches!
